The developed nations are cleverly backtracking and looking to the
fast emerging economies like India, China, Brazil and Mexico for
larger roles.
They infact, want heavy cuts from
new economies for environment recovery.
Though India stands committed to its obligations toward protecting
environment, it has a consistent position that cost bearing should
be on proportional terms. It insists that deep cuts should also be
taken by the developed countries which were responsible for
polluting the climate in the past and pushing it to the present
state.
India’s greenhouse gas emissions are growing steadily
in synchronism to its economy.
However, the country is conscious
about it and has taken several initiatives in recent years
to mitigate the impact. The steps include, new regulations to
generate
power
on commercial scale from Renewable sources, formulation of
attractive incentives and policies
to invite private investments in the Renewable Energy
Sector, tariff subsidy for solar power generation to support its
prohibitive costs and new investments to develop clean
technologies.
India’s National Solar Mission has fixed up a target of 12,000 MW
of solar power by 2022. In this context the development of
infrastructure & technologies within the country for Concentrated
Solar Power (CSP) assumes a vital role.
